We all used to get calls from unknown numbers often. An unknown number means, the number which is not in your phone’s contact list. Mostly such calls arrive from marketing persons or from some over dynamic friends who frequently keep changing their numbers, or sometimes from absolutely strangers. Whoever be the caller, such unknown numbers create irritation in mind, especially when you miss the call. You just keep thinking whether to respond to this number or not !
However, there are some sites on the net which can provide you information about the mobile operator and telecom circle of a given phone number, but this information seems insufficient in figuring the identity of the caller due to larger scope of telecom circles and mobile operators. So, here is a much better solution and that is, TrueCaller.
In this post, I am sharing with you about a site which can provide more specific information like the name attached with that phone number, alongwith the mobile operator and telecom circle. This site is known as TrueCaller, which boasts to be the largest online global phone directory.
How to use TrueCaller phone directory ?
Using TrueCaller is as simple as 1,2,3. As shown in the pic above, simply enter the phone number in the search box, about which you want to find out the details, and hit enter. TrueCaller then ask you to log-in with your Twitter/Facebook/Google or Yahoo account. Once successfully logged in, the details of the number will be on your screen. I tested with my own number and to my surprise, they have my name in their database.
Apart from the computer, you can install TrueCaller on your phone also. It is available for almost all popular phone OS like Android, iOS, Blackberry, Symbian etc. Just go to m.truecaller.com via your phone browser and click Download. Alternatively, if you can read email on your phone, then you can request for a download link inside the mail by just entering your Email address on TrueCaller website.
Can I unlist my number from TrueCaller ?
If your number is listed on TrueCaller and you don’t want it to be listed there anymore, you can unlist it easily. Just visit http://www.truecaller.com/unlist/ and then choose your country and enter the number you want to unlist. Your number will be removed from the database within 24 hours.
